2004

Merry Christmas.
Standing back and taking a retrospective account of the past year, I begin to smile. What a wonderful year. Among other things, I can now safely say that I have never been more mystified by God. I love it. I began 2004 safely, thoughtlessly entrenched in my doctrine. Those doubts and disbeliefs were comfortably suppressed so as to make a neat and meaningless religion. After a year of conversation (not conversion), learning (not lecturing) and listening (not judging), I am further from certainty that I have ever been. I feel so much closer to God.
People change your life. For better or worse, interaction with people shape your existence. Occasionally, if you are lucky, you realize when this occurs and are able to acknowledge their friendship.
